"Legislation that simply bans the use of dogs in the killing of foxes, hares and deer, will seriously compromise policies and actions that are already making a significant positive contribution to the quality of the living countryside,and which have potential to do so much more." Professor John Webster, ISAH Protocol, September 2003.

Landowners Print E-mail

Hunts will need to obtain landowners’ permission to enter the land in order to carry out legal activities. We are in discussion with the NFU and the CLA and we will provide a suitable template letter by which the relevant permission can be granted, and which is aimed at exempting landowners and farmers from prosecution.

We strongly advise hunts to:

  • call their farmers together to consult arrangements for legal activities;
  • be available to offer farmers a call-out service using 2 dogs:
  • continue a fallen stock service;
  • invite farmers to point-to-points and social events.
